Port of The Dalles
Mission Statement / Scope of Responsibilities
The Port of The Dalles is dedicated to the enhancement, diversification, and stabilization of the local economy. By providing employment opportunities, the Port improves the standard of living, business climate, and quality of services available to the citizens of the District.
Organization Information
Services / Programs Offered:
- Industrial development, commercial development, community marketing, business and financial planning, marina operations, community relations, and political activities.
Facilities:
- The Dalles Industrial Center ~
The Port owns and operates a two hundred plus acre developed/serviced industrial park with river front and non-river front industrial and commercial sites ranging from 1 acre to over 33 acres. The park is bounded by Interstate 84 to the southwest and the Columbia River to the northeast.
- Industrial Building Space ~
The Industrial Center includes buildings for sale and lease. Depending on availability, space ranging from 1,250 square feet to over 30,000 square feet may be available.
- Build-to-Suit Opportunities ~
The Port works with clients to construct build-to-suit facilities as needed.
- Grain Elevator ~
The Port owns a 600,000 bushel grain elevator with truck and barge access. The facility is leased to a private operator.
- The Dalles Marina ~
The Port owns and operates a 120-slip marina facility on the Columbia River at river mile 190. Approximately half of the tenants are boathouses with the remaining being open moorage power and sail vessels.
- The Dalles Riverfront Park ~
The Port owns a 50-acre Columbia River riverfront park facility. Included in the facility are a windsurfing access beach, rest rooms, outdoor showers, picnic shelter, volleyball court, picnic tables, 40 acre nature area and walking trails.
Area Served:
- The Port District is located in the northern part of Wasco County, Oregon including the communities of The Dalles, Dufur, Rowena, Petersburg, Friend and others. The District's population is more than 18,000 residents.
Miscellaneous Information:
- The Port is seeking quality growth of the community and region through maintaining the quality of life and seeking the development of high value added family wage jobs for our citizens. Responsible, controlled growth is our goal for this community.
